This wonderful antique Victorian Scottish brooch is adorned with an impressive Cairngorm stone in the centre surrounded by an array of colourful patterned Agates which have been cut and polished to fit the brooches unique bowl-shaped design.
Scottish jewellery grew in popularity in the mid- 1800s as Queen Victoria’s frequent trips to her Scottish Castle Balmoral saw her return with Scottish souvenirs and jewellery which influenced the trend in Britain.
The Cairngorm stones are sourced from the Cairngorm mountains in Scotland and have a lovely treacle coloured hue that glows like a dark Citrine.
The brooch is modelled in Silver and features beautiful engraved patterning and a large secure pin on the back. It is a highly collectable piece that would look perfect on a lapel.
